Celebrate Women of Color HERStory Month® 2016 and join Yemaya Pittsburgh Production this Saturday for their community event:  What does it mean to be black? on Saturday, February 27th, 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Shady Side Market District Giant Eagle located at 5550 Centre Avenue for Black History Month.

What does it mean to be black is a Yemaya Pittsburgh production that exposes people black experiences and identities across the globe. Production’s highlights include a panel discussion with local professionals whose ethnic identity questions conventional notions of race, motivational speaker Jessica Brown who will speak on the power of words, dance demonstrations including Afro-Cuban Orisha and Egungun, and more. Join Yemaya Pittsburgh and celebrate the black identity.
