Celebrate Women of Color HERStory Month® 2016 at the Philly premiere of the acclaimed documentary film, No Más Bebés, by filmmakers Renee Tajima-Peña and Virginia Espino!
New Voices Philadelphia is excited to screen this groundbreaking film that was broadcast nationally on PBS Independent Lens. No Más Bebés details the stories of courageous Latina immigrant mothers in Los Angeles who filed a federal class action lawsuit for grievances of forced sterilization and sterilization without informed consent.
We hope you will join us to witness the powerful stories of the Madrigal 10 and their fearless 26 year old lawyer, Antonia Hernández, talk with the filmmakers about their inspiration for the film and connect with the fierce activists of New Voices Philly who are building the movement for Reproductive Justice and developing the leadership of women of color.
Please reserve your tickets online on Eventbrite: http://nomasbebesphilly.eventbrite.com. We recommend a $5 Suggested Donation. Light refreshments will be served.
